ACCC to prioritise crackdown of manipulative online practices

Deceptive online advertising and supply chain disruptions will be at the top of the important list of what it will deal with by the Australian Consumer Commission (ACCC) in the coming year.

Outgoing ACCC chairman Rod Sims, in his annual address to the Australian Economic Development Committee, said compliance with ACCC rules and enforcement efforts would focus on these priorities due to their growing expansion since then.

Also important for ACCC consumers will be consumer issues ranging from prices and sales of essential services, with a focus on energy and communications.
