VoltDB and Google Cloud are working together on 5G edge applications

VoltDB, a leading enterprise data platform that enables fast data decision making, announced today that it will join Google Cloud’s 5G Edge / ISV partner initiative. As part of this initiative, VoltDB will make its data management capabilities available in Google Cloud, with Anthos serving as a platform for delivering applications and solutions to the network edge.

As global companies increasingly perform their core business functions in the cloud, they have many options for using 5G-based cloud functions on the edge of their networks. To meet this need, Google Cloud unveiled its telecommunications strategy in early 2020 , which includes plans to help communication service providers (CSPs) monetize the edge for business services and to collaborate with partners like AT&T to move Google Cloud functions at the edge provide the AT&T network.

In December 2020, Google Cloud launched its 5G Edge / ISV partner initiative to deliver applications and solutions to the edge of the network with Anthos.

VoltDB is designed to process large amounts of complex data with predictable low latency and without compromising data accuracy. It is the only data platform that enables 5G-based applications to intelligently respond to data in less than 10 milliseconds.
