Mavenia and Qualcomm expand portfolio of open RAN solutions to promote next-generation 5G infrastructure-01
Both companies are expanding global solutions for introducing open RAN with large-scale MIMO RU and DU for 5G that realize large-capacity RAN.

  • Mavenia and Qualcomm Technologies collaborate to commercialize large-scale MIMO RU and DU for next-generation 5G mobile infrastructure.
  • Leveraging the Qualcomm® 5G RAN platform, Mavenia’s new solution is designed to simplify network deployment and accelerate adoption of cloud-based open RAN mobile networks worldwide.

Building the future of networks with cloud-native software that works in any cloud and transforms the way the world connects Mavenia , a network software provider, is today at Qualcomm Technologies announced collaboration with. In this collaboration, the OpenBeam TM open RAN portfolio of 5G wireless units (RUs) will be expanded to categories from millimeter waves to large-scale MIMO with 64T64R functions and 8T8R wireless units, facilitating the transition to the latest networks. To do. Mavenia also plans to develop vDU RAN software based on the Qualcomm® X100 5G RAN Accelerator Card. The collaboration aims to leverage Mavenia’s software solutions and Qualcomm Technologies’ global leadership in 5G / connectivity platforms to deliver extended next-generation solutions.

The two companies will work together to promote open RAN globally with transformative solutions and help companies and carriers achieve flexible network deployments that meet the diverse needs of 5G. Mavenia’s new products are backed by Qualcomm® X100 5G RAN accelerator cards and Qualcomm® QRUxxx 5G RAN platform for high-performance, large-scale MIMO, and are innovative by enhancing Mavenia’s existing open RAN solutions. It is designed to enable large-scale deployments of virtual open 5G networks and meet performance demands at the connected intelligent edge of carriers.

Network operators will deploy cost-effective 5G network infrastructure while addressing the complexity of supporting next-generation network demands for high capacity and low latency needed to improve the consumer experience. We are facing difficult challenges. With the accelerating growth of mobile data traffic, network operators are looking for larger capacity platforms to meet their customers’ needs.
