Intel launches its First Chips Built for AI in the Cloud

Intel has showcased its first purpose-built ASICs designed explicitly for AI in the cloud. The chipmaker has unveiled two new Nervana Neural Network Processors, the NNP-T1000 (below) and NNP-I1000.  Intel has stated that its AI portfolio aims to generate $3.5 billion in revenue this year.

The company also shared details about the next version of its Movidius Vision Processing Unit (VPU) for edge media and computer vision. It is expected to be available in the first half of 2020.
