AirPortr, the digital platform and provider of smart baggage management solutions, today announced the appointment of Lina Margolin as its new Chief Operating Officer. As AirPortr rolls out its product at airports across the globe, Margolin will be integral to the success of new market deployments, B2B partnerships, and the scaling of global teams.
Margolin brings over 10 years of leadership experience in delivering customer-centric transformation at leading organisations such as Optimove, eBay, and most recently at transportation technology company Gett, where she had a successful tenure as UK B2B General Manager and Global VP of Business Operations. Her knowledge spans data science, customer success, analytics, growth, compliance and SaaS, and Margolin’s experience will be instrumental to driving increased speed of adoption by customers at AirPortr.
Randel Darby, CEO and Founder at AirPortr, comments: “As part of our executive team, we were looking for a COO with an innate ability to turn high complexity into simplicity, build robust organisational structures and culture, and master global go-to-market strategies at large scale. With Lina’s depth and breadth of experience, we believe her skills will be invaluable to our ongoing success and growth, at this pivotal moment for the business.”
Commenting on her new position, Margolin added: “AirPortr is an amazing business with an incredible culture. From my first meeting with Randel, I clearly understood the size of the opportunity, the relentless focus on customers and teams as well as the phenomenal product. I am thrilled to have this opportunity.”
AirPortr’s platform turns the complexity of baggage into customer simplicity through user-friendly, intuitive, and scalable solutions. AirPortr’s technology was developed to handle the regulatory, commercial, operational, and customer-facing complexities involved with baggage handling and processing. Headquartered in London, the baggage platform has been adopted by some of the world’s largest airlines and airports, including British Airways, Virgin Atlantic and London Heathrow.
Margolin’s appointment comes during a period of rapid growth for the London-based baggage platform. As COO, Margolin will be integral to AirPortr’s global strategic partnership with Swissport – the largest provider of ground and cargo handling services. The partnership, which was announced last month, will see AirPortr’s products and services become available across Swissport’s network of 269 airport locations in 47 countries.
