Building on the core functionality of the Flexible Spaces 1.0 application – workspace reservations, orientation, coworker location and communication – Flexible Spaces 2.0 offers enhancements to both the the employee and space management capabilities with the introduction of Neighborhoods , to group spaces for organizational assignment, the registration in the Application to maximize bookable spaces, features of space , a way to categorize and identify employee preferences for space, and Insights Access , an API for data, to generate new data that informs decisions about the real estate portfolio.

Improved workspace design and data-driven portfolio decisions improve employee experience

Flexible Spaces 2.0 introduces new features that promote activity-oriented working with colleagues and optimize available office space through the design of workspaces driven by data and analytics.

  • NEIGHBORHOODS:  Space managers will now have the tools to create neighborhoods that foster collaboration, maximize use, and create spaces that allow employees to do their best. Offices and other spaces can be grouped into quarters. These collections of bookable seats are then assigned to functional teams, creating greater possibilities for group activities and “occasional collisions” at work.
  • IN-APP CHECK-IN:  To increase the use of available space, space managers can now enable in-app check-in, making previously reserved space available if the employee who has it. reserved does not use it, freeing up space for new reservations.
  • SPACE CHARACTERISTICS:  A new feature, Space Characteristics , will label the characteristics of offices, rooms and spaces to help employees choose the space that meets their needs. The data collected will allow administrators to identify changing employee preferences over time and guide their space design strategies.
  • INSIGHTS ACCESS:  With Flexible Spaces 2.0 comes the ability to extract time series usage and occupancy data through Insights Access , Comfy’s API for workplace data. These outbound data APIs make it possible to transparently analyze both employee intentions to use office spaces – via reservation data – and actual employee behavior via sensor data or wifi. With Insights Access, Comfy data (including Space Characteristics) can be easily combined with other sources to analyze the use of a portfolio of buildings, space costs by department, customer preferences. employees,
