Drift is the gradual decline in a model’s performance after it has been put into use. The production data used in the real world is extremely comparable to the training data, so when artificial intelligence models are trained on small sets of data, they initially perform well. However, over time, real production data generated is different because of a range of variables that could include user behavior, geographic location, and season.
