5 Business Industries Positively Impacted by AI Disruption

AI is eliminating manual jobs, whether it is by automating domestic duties or shifting employment to more productive endeavors.

Artificial intelligence is quickly transitioning from a sci-fi technology to one that affects us every day. Many already-existing sectors have witnessed the incorporation of Machine Learning and deep learning techniques. These technologies have the ability to drastically increase the efficiency of corporate operations, but they also have the potential to significantly disrupt a number of current markets.

Healthcare

The endless capabilities of AI can grow in the healthcare sector as AI is now used for disease prediction, high-risk patient detectors, and diagnostic test automation. The mainstream use of predictive healthcare may be made possible by the rise of AI. AI can assist doctors in taking action to ensure the health of their patients by utilizing the power of predictive analytics. In comparison to the current reactive approach to healthcare, this is a significantly better strategy. As IoT-enabled embedded devices grow, doctors may now remotely check on their patient’s health and be alerted in case of an emergency.

Customer Service & Experience

Customer experience is emerging as an important success story for AI across industries. While the retail industry now uses AI the most, other industries are starting to pay attention. For instance, travel agencies are recognizing the significant potential in using chatbots to deliver scalable, always-on concierge-level service.  In the form of chatbots, natural language processing (NLP) algorithms have made their way into customer-facing helplines. Customer service representatives can engage more productively with the help of these chatbots, which can gather information about a customer’s problems. They can sometimes handle consumer problems without human intervention, only escalating to human executives when necessary.

Cybersecurity

The majority of cybersecurity firms maintain large databases that can be used by AI to search for malware attacks. Antivirus providers are also utilizing the technology to offer a proactive means of eliminating attacks. The vast amount of data about different viruses, attack methods, and cyberattack types that are currently available allow AI to be taught to reason. Businesses will be able to utilize AI systems that may be left alone to continuously scan the network for any unusual activity. AI technologies can also help identify long-lasting hacks on prominent targets like multinational corporations earlier. AI actively scans networks for harmful activity, enabling a business to identify an attack much earlier.

Marketing

AI will disrupt the marketing industry with two main methods- personalized content and exclusive targeting. Based on client preferences, AI marketing tools can also evaluate a company’s most effective messaging. For example, if a customer has searched for a particular product, now the AI algorithm will filter out the preference and will notify customers with similar products on whatever channel that customer is surfing influencing the probability of the customer buying another product. As customized advertising using neural networks spreads, AI will make it easier for marketing departments to contact clients. For improved targeting, services like Google and Netflix platforms have already begun to use AI technology. On a user-by-user basis, tailored adverts can also be employed with recommendation algorithms.

Logistics

Shipping companies could benefit greatly from the deployment of AI as well. Custom checkpoint document inspections can cause delays in the shipment process. Today, getting permission for a ship to carry all of its cargo takes several working days. Image processing techniques and clever automation can help customs officials complete checks more quickly by scanning the relevant papers and digitizing them.

Using this information, cargo can thus be precisely tracked while spending less time at ports. The global shipping industry has also employed AI, particularly predictive analytics, to improve supply chain economics due to the advantages of the technology.
